October 2021 Consultation
The decision by Clare County Council in June to refuse planning permission for the proposed development was appealed to An Bord Pleanála. Following a recent court ruling known as the Derryadd Judgment it was decided to withdraw the appeal from An Bord Pleanála in order to rectify issues identified in the Derryadd judgment which are applicable to Slieveacurry. The court ruled that it was necessary to indicate a minimum size limit along with a maximum size limit for the proposed infrastructure. As the development description for the previous planning application only noted a maximum turbine tip height of up to 175m, it has been decided to withdraw the appeal case and lodge a new planning application to Clare County Council, which incorporates the requirements of the Derryadd Judgment. The proposal has not changed from the last application. The new planning application addresses the requirements of the Derryadd Judgment and furthermore, the additional information which was provided to An Bord Pleanála in the appeal of the decision by Clare County Council has been incorporated into the application documentation. We welcome any queries or questions you may have relating to the project. We appreciate your feedback, please feel free to contact us.
